1. Consultation: Invisalign is a strictly dentist-prescribed treatment. The procedure starts with an in-office consultation with Dr. Gutham. The dentist will discuss your expectations, including what you’d like your smile to look like. We’ll also examine your teeth and jaws to determine whether Invisalign is the best treatment. Although Invisalign is a powerful orthodontic system, it has limitations. We recommend other orthodontic solutions or surgery for underdeveloped jaws or severe malocclusions. 
2. 3D digital scans:The dentist begins by capturing detailed 3D images of your teeth using an intraoral scanner. Then, with advanced Invisalign software, we’ll create a customized treatment plan that simulates each stage, showing precisely how and when your teeth will shift throughout the process. With this fantastic technology, you’ll see your results before treatment begins. 
3. Starting treatment:Our Invisalign lab will custom-create your aligners based on your treatment plan. Many patients need 18-30 aligners, although the exact number depends on your orthodontic needs. When you get your aligners, start treatment right away. You must wear your aligners for at least 20-22 hours daily. Patients should only take out their aligners when eating or brushing their teeth. Treatment progresses by changing to a new set of aligners every two weeks. Regular check-ups are also necessary to monitor your progress and ensure your treatment plan is on track.
4. Maintaining results:Although timelines vary, many patients achieve their results within 12-18 months. Mild cases only take a few months, but severe malocclusions can take up to 24 months. Once you complete treatment, our dentist will give you a retainer to maintain your teeth in their newly aligned positions. Failure to wear a retainer may result in an orthodontic relapse, undoing all the hard work and dedication. We expect you to observe diligent oral hygiene to keep your new smile healthy.
