At Humber Valley Dental, we are never shy from investing in cutting-edge technology that improves your dental care experience. We constantly keep up with new and better ways to care for your teeth and gums. Alongside investing in the technology, we train our dental care team on new technology to ensure we pass the improvements to you — our patients.

Here are the dental technologies we use to enhance your visit at our Bolton, Ontario, dental office.

CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography)

Cone Beam Computed Tomography diagnostic imaging enables high-resolution visuals that aid in precise treatment planning. It helps the dentist get a better overall view of your teeth and surrounding areas, including your entire mouth, jaws, nose, and throat, in three dimensions. These images show the bone, airway, surrounding soft tissues, and any dental work you may have. It uses very low levels of radiation and is completely safe. The procedure will take only about 20-40 seconds and is quick and painless. Lot of patients have benefited using this newly implemented technology in our office. Please feel free to ask staff about them.

Digital dental x-rays

You will likely need a dental x-ray when the dentist wants to explore problems in your teeth, gums, and jaw that are not visible to the naked eye. However, like many people, the idea of biting down on a plastic that holds the dental film while x-rays are being taken is uncomfortable, not to mention moving from one room to another before the x-rays are taken.

Thanks to technology, dentists can now use digital x-rays (radiographs) to diagnose patients quickly and effectively. Digital x-rays are comfortable, fast, accurate, and minimize radiation exposure.

Digital dental records

Because our practice uses digital dental x-rays, we also have the ability to store these files on our computers for easy access to dental records. This also makes it simple to send a patient’s files to a referred professional for review.
